Studio Diary: The Week the North Window Was Cleaned

Eight years of dust removed in a single afternoon, and every colour on the working wall changed. The greys turned blue. The ochres, which I had thought were warm, turned out to be almost green.

Two paintings were repainted entirely that week. Neither was better for it, but both were more honest.
