Visual Artist

Murshida Arzu Alpana

Artist statement

I paint rooms I can no longer visit and weather I can no longer stand in. The work begins in memory and is corrected by observation, never the other way around.

Each canvas is worked over months, often to the point where the first painting is entirely buried. What remains visible is only the last argument the surface and I had.
